Force Of Love This of love This is an absolute gem From page ne I found the characters engaging and I was utterly drawn into their story Though not a long book it actually took me awhile to finish it as I A Chance Acquaintance often found myself compelled to reread passages tonce again savor the exuisite writing I loved it and I highly. Of bringing his staff into combat and a pair f secrets that are far dangerous than the battlefield Shtefan is a Mischling and ne f the thousands f German citizens The Wallflower's Revenge of Jewish descent who have avoided the death camps by concealing themselves in the ranksf the German Army And he is in love with Gabrielle Belmont the colonel's French mistress Either f those facts could soon mean his end were Colonel Erich If you like Daniel Silva you ll like Steven Hartov Gripping from the first line The narrative f Shtefan Brandt the adjutant to SS Colonel Himmel brings novel and compelling perspective to the desperation War to the Knife: Bleeding Kansas, 1854-1861 of German soldiers as they fight to survive as they retreat from the Allies inexorable advance in southern France at the endf the War Yet this is mere backdrop
For The Searing Tension the searing tension the book Aware f Brandt s partial Jewish ancestry Himmel extorts loyalty Aware f the Jewish ancestry f strikingly beautiful Gabrielle Himmel extorts sex And Shtefan learns we meet him as a bewildered adolescent then hear him as he transforms into to soldier as he falls in love with Gabrielle and as he plots to steal her from his commander This book is great Tough to follow at first but everything ties together and makes sense I actually enjoy the style f writing it s different and uniue Highly recommend reading if you like WWII historical fiction I bought this wonderful book at the Manhattan book signing n April 18 I started it n the 20th and stayed up all night to finish it The story the characters and most importantly the poetic elegance Introductory Algebra: Models Concepts Skills of this writer seared my heart I don t usually read books about war but thisne was different This story goes far beyond the vivid portrayal Marriage After God: Chasing Boldly After God’s Purpose for Your Life Together of the lives and tribulationsf soldiers that I m sure will fascinate students f military history Shtefan the book s protagonist starts ut as a naive though conflicted adolescent Forced to confront not Blue Blood only hiswn fears The Gollywhopper Games: Friend or Foe of dying in battle butf living as an enabler to his commanding. REVIEW The Soul Of A Thief.
Recommend it I received this
book through giveaways for a review It was a basic world war two story linethrough giveaways for a review It was
A BASIC WORLD WAR TWO STORYbasic world war two story the most part battles scenes and all that But I did like The slightly different view f it being told from The perspective Rituels secrets des Templiers of a young German SS soldier hiding his Jewish heritage rather than the usual allied soliders story The main plot was about the love triangle between the young solider his commander and the commander s mistress which wasn t the mostrginal story line I wasn t a big fan f the writing style but I liked the story line enough to continue with it This wasn t a great book nor was it bad I won t give a summary f this book s plot as some A Mild Suicide other reviewers here have already done that but what I will say is that this writer takes what could have been in a lesser writer s hands a simple love triangle and basic war story and gives us instead a compelling read fullf suspense action heart and even humor An evil Nazi a beautiful proud heroine and a young hero may sound like stock World War II characters but Mr Hartov makes them so surprising complex conflicted imperfect and human that they are anything but Written as a memoir by the book s hero the story is intimate and the prose has a slightly Beethoven for a Later Age: The Journey of a String Quartet old fashioned uality to it which I found to be fairly brilliant at capturing the voicef an Born to Ride: A Story About Bicycle Face old man writingf the past in a language not his mother tongue And Mr Hartov s ability to describe battle scenes environment behavior mood and feeling had me feeling as if I were watching the movie Origen: Scholarship in the Service of the Church of this book as I read it And what a beautiful movie this book would mak. Immel to noticeColonel Himmel hasther concerns however He can see the war's end n the horizon and recognises that he is not n the winning side no matter what the reports from Hitler's generals may say So he has taken matters into his wn hands hatching a plot to escape Europe To fund his new life he plans to steal a fortune from the encroaching Allies A fortune which Shtefan in turn plans to steal from him.
