Blinded By Our EyesArt she made p with words It s become my favourite Clare London book bar noneBeautifulRated 5 Delightful Divas and a Recommended s become my favourite Clare London book bar noneBeautifulRated 5 Delightful Divas and a Recommended by Jaime Merged reviewJaime s ReviewI ve always been a fan of Ms London s writing Blinded by Our Eyes is no exception I loved this book for so many reasons Mostly because writing Blinded by Our Eyes is no exception I loved this book for so many reasons Mostly because ve been reading London for so long been enjoying her books for so long I could not have anticipated the immense scope of her skills showcased here as though her very words were The Naturalists Daughter under the spotlight in the gallery of the storyTo say this book is a departure for her might be annderstatement It s always a risk to move away from what fans have come to know you for but for London the risk paid off for me in a huge way The first page of this book is so lush so gloriously gruesome book is so lush so gloriously gruesome beautiful I actually put it down long enough to send her an email and tell her how hard it rocks The way she turns something The Weather Girl ugly into a beautiful spray of words makes something beautiful seem sinister tanglesp the reader s perception of what s good and lovely and what might not be so leaves your head spinning Masterfully doneThroughout the book there is a miasma of confusion and a feeling of being removed from the action by a filter that lets the narrating character see what s going on but not ite connect with any of it I found this disconcerting sometimes wanting to know what was going on thinking I did know and yet not really ever being sure It left me very stressed The techniue creates a distance from the events of the story for the reader that would make the book hard to get into if London didn t create an emotional connection with Charles He s a character that doesn t even know himself and the revelation of his character is as much a surprise to him as it is to the reader Yet you can t help but feel for him as his world crumbles and root for him as he searches for some way to put things back where they belongThis is one of those books that really defies description Even now struggling to figure out how she did what she did with this character making him aloof yet sympathetic almost shallowly attracted to beauty but still emotionally visceral when it counts I can t find the wordsAnd that is just the point right there Wherever she found them Ms London found the words to paint a picture I won t soon forget. Lo's mentor Charles is haunted by the horror of his violent death Seeking closure he investigates Paolo's past and soon discovers a tangled web of motives and potential suspects some closer to home than he ever imagined He's drawn to Antony Walker an aggressive han.

Right from page one this book grabbed me played with made me read well past my bedtime andltimately it sticks in my memory as though I can still the art she made p with words It s become my favourite Clare can still see the art she made p with words It s become my favourite Clare book bar noneBeautifulRated 5 Delightful Divas and a Recommended Read by Jaime 2010 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention 5 from at least 1 judge i was debating between two and three stars and went with two because honestly i didn t like it very much the MC was fairly boring and the descriptions were overly wordy and a lot of the times pointless the romance was blah if you could lot of the times pointless the romance was blah if you could it romance I wouldn tthe mystery was pointless there were no clues or anything like that just the MC being suspicious of everyone as he goes around over thinking pointless little things about how out of touch he is because he has never gotten to know anyone outside of work then at the end the killer just shows p at the crime scene and confesses DNF 33%I always considered Sean Crisden a good narrator He s always does what a good narrator should do speaks clearly hits the emotional notes and allows the story to come through He doesn t necessarily add anything to the material not for me anyway but he didn t detract from it either Until now I couldn t believe this was him It was painful y all And speeding it p didn t helpAnd the story was not what I was hoping it d be I really enjoyed Ms London s contributions to the Petit Morts series and have been looking for something else by her to read This is just a rambling mess barely worth the mystery elements and from reviews by others there s not much of a romance element either The whole three stars are given to the mystery part Because the motive for the murder was pretty sinister and dark and a bit psychological The romance well nobody tell me that this will be a mystery heavy book so I will say that the romance is pretty non existent Or if there is between Charles and Antony I don t buy it Oh there is sex but sex is not romance The circumstance when Charles and Antony meet and what follows is not strong enough for me to care about them or even to be called a relationship Antony doesn t even show A Full House upntil 13 of the bookMost of the time I feel like an outside audience watching this mystery O Homem Que Ela Ama Odiar Diamante Bruto unfolds without particularly caring about the players inside. Dsome sculptor withnsavory ties to Paolo Charles is nsettled by Antony's forceful nature but irresistibly attracted to his passion and his artWhen the evidence points toward Antony's guilt Charles is thrown into emotional turmoil Has he lost his heart to a kille. ,
